See How Burberry Maximizes Exposure Digitally

After seeing a flood of live streams, tweet-ups, and new shoppable runways from New York Fashion Week, we’re seeing one brand taking a new stride on the digital runway.
Today marks the 5th day for London Fashion Week and Burberry is bringing back their Tweetwalk where backstage photos of the new 2012 Spring Summer collection are shared on Twitter before the models get on the runway. This season they are incorporating new elements such as animated gifs on Twitter and embeddable Facebook streams viewers can host on their walls. They showed live streams throughout the streets of London and their store in Beijing while optimizing the stream for both iPhone and iPad. Burberry is also leveraging social sites like Pinterest and Polyvore to highlight their collection and making the runway soundtrack available for download on iTunes.
Implications: If you’re looking to create buzz around your brand, develop a publishing approach that leverages social trends to enhance reach and visibility through earned media.
